Balik Scientist Program now open for applications07 November 2007The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong SAR wishes to announce that the Balik Scientist Program (BSP) of the Philippine Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is now open for applicants who are Filipinos or foreigners of Filipino descent. The BSP was established in 1975 to encourage overseas Filipino scientists and technicians to return or reside in the Philippines, and share their expertise in order to help accelerate the scientific, agro-industrial and economic development of the country. Its objective is to strengthen the scientific and technological human resources of academic, public and private institutions in order to accelerate the flow of technologies and stimulate the development of new or strategically important ones that are vital to national development and progress.
