New procedure
to apply for machine-readable passport (MRP)

Starting 04 February 2008,
please observe the following procedure when applying for a
Machine-Readable Passport (MRP):

Prepare the following documents:
-
Duly accomplished Passport
Application Form (available at the Philippine Consulate General offices or
can be downloaded at
www.philcongen-hk.com);
-
Photocopy of data page (page 1)
of current passport;
-
One (1) passport-size photo
with royal blue background;
-
Photocopy of passport page
containing valid visa;
-
Photocopy of Hong Kong ID;
-
Other documents as necessary.

Submit the documents to the
Philippine Consulate General through any of the following means:

By Drop Box: Place the
documents in an envelope and drop them in the designated Drop Box in
the Philippine Consulate General during office hours. Important: DO
NOT enclose your original passport, your original Hong Kong ID or any
money;

By Mail: Place the
documents in an envelope and mail the envelope to:

14-F United Centre, 95 Queensway
Admiralty, Hong Kong SAR
You may wish to avail yourself
of the Registered Mail service. Important: DO NOT include your
original passport, your original Hong Kong ID or any money in the envelope.

By E-mail: Scan the
above documents and e-mail the scanned copies to:
passport-application@philcongen-hk.com

After three (3) working days
from the time the Consulate has received your documents, visit the Consulate General
and proceed to Window 9 or 10 to do the following:

Present your original current
passport and Hong Kong ID;

Verify the data in the
machine-generated form;
-
Affix your signature and
thumbprints on the machine-generated form;

Submit three (3) passport-size
photos with royal blue background; and
-
Pay the passport fee of
HK$425.00.

Return to the Consulate General
at the appointed date of release (after 20 working days) of your MRP.
Proceed to Window 10, present the official receipt and your green
passport, and then sign the receipt for your new passport.
