Concert Tour of Rondalla on Wheels

Rondalla on Wheels (ROW), a group of musicians with disabilities from Bahay Mapagmahal at the Philippine Orthopedic Center Compound in Quezon City, embarked on a Concert Tour in Hong Kong on 5 June and to end on 18 June 2008 in celebration of their 30th Anniversary. ROW is a project of the National Orthopedic Hospital (NOH) and the Philippine Society for Crippled Children, Inc. (PSCC). Established in 1978 by Sister Rose Catry, ICM, a Belgian nun, the group plays different musical instruments including the banduria, guitar, octavina, contrabase, rhythm and drum.

The group is hosted by the Kababaihang Rizalista-Hong Kong Chapter, in coordination with various private, charitable and non-governmental organizations in Hong Kong and the Philippine Consulate General. The highlight of the tour was the concert performance at the Sai Kung Jockey Club Town Hall on June 9, 2008. The group will also perform at the opening of the Independence Day Celebrations with the Filipino Community on June 15, 2008.
