The 110th Philippine Independence Day celebration kicked off with an Open House at the Philippine Consulate General on 12 June 2008 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Members of the Filipino Community in Hong Kong were invited to the Open House that commenced with a flag-raising ceremony, an ecumenical prayer led by various religious leaders of the community, and the reading of special messages from various Philippine Government Officials. This was capped with a performance from some members of the Philippine Consulate staff and brunch.
