Fourteen (14) out of the
28 examinees of the first Midwives Licensure Examinations in Hong Kong passed the exams
conducted by the Board of Midwifery of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)
on 12-13 December 2009, based on a statement released by the said agency published
in its website on 8 January 2010.
The new midwives are the

The 14th examinee
who passed the exams was Ms. Zubiaga, Jonalyn Apolinario. Her registration in the roster of
new midwives will be deferred, however, pending the submission of some registration
requirements.
The members of
the Board of Midwifery who gave the licensure examination were Dr. Alejandro R. San Pedro,
Chairman; Dr. Remy B. Dequiña, Dr. Josephine H. Hipolito, Ms. Lolita I. Dicang and Ms.
Rhodora L. Lopez, Members.
The PRC also
conducted simultaneous examinations for nurses in December 2009 but the results have
yet to be released.
