Clean Central Campaign

Consulate and PAHK representatives discussed during the leaders' forum
yesterday the "Clean Central Campaign", the Filipino community's counterpart of the "Keep Hong Kong Clean Campaign". The latter is an on-going series of clean-up activities and educational awareness programs launched throughout Hong Kong with the participation of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department and other Hong Kong Government agencies.

The program was launched at the Chater Garden on 8 December 2002 and attended by officials of the Clean Hong Kong Office, Food and Environmental Hygiene Department. Several Filipino community associations and leaders presented their pledges of support to the campaign. 

The Clean Central Campaign limits its coverage to the Central and Admiralty areas where Filipino overseas workers converge during Sundays and holidays. These areas include City Hall, Edinburgh Place, vicinities of HK Bank, China Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Landmark, Chater Garden, Statue Square, Legislative Building, Monument and Fountain, Chater Road, Mandarin, Prince, St. George & Alexandra Buildings, Post Office, Jardine House, Star Ferry Underpass, Jockey Club Betting Centre, Exchange Square, Forum & Walkways, Murray Park and Hutchison House, Worldwide House, Jollibee, Catholic Centre & Eurotrade pavements, walkways in Admiralty, Queensway, United Centre & Harcourt Garden, Pathways of the Supreme Court and Government Offices.
