President's Meeting with the Filipino Community

A major program of the President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's Hong Kong itinerary will be a meeting with the Filipino Community at HITEC in the afternoon of 28 October 2001. Over 4,000 members of the Filipino community are expected to take part in the affair. The Philippine Consulate General has issued invitations to Filipino organizations to coordinate the attendance of their respective members. Non-organization members are advised to sign up at the Philippine Consulate General by 10 October 2001.

The Hong Kong Musicians Union and other local Filipino talents will entertain the audience beginning 1:00 p.m. During the program, the Department of Tourism's volunteer program called V-12 will also be launched by no less than Secretary Richard Gordon. The activity will culminate in a speech of the President before the community.
