Congen Jover Assumes New Position In Beijing As Deputy Chief of Mission

Consul General Corazon L. Belmonte-Jover left Hong Kong for Beijing on 15 January 2006 to assume her new position as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Philippine Embassy in Beijing. She served as Consul General in Hong Kong for more than two years. The new Consul General in Hong Kong is Mr. Alejandrino A. Vicente, a career diplomat with the rank of an ambassador carrying the title of Chief of Mission II. He is expected to assume his new position in Hong Kong on 1 February 2006. ConGen Jover, who is also carrying the rank of Chief of Mission II, and ConGen Vicente previously worked together at the DFA Office of Policy Planning and Coordination as Assistant Secretary and Executive Director, respectively.
