Consulate to Launch Sports Fest in Hong Kong

The Philippine Consulate General in HK SAR is organizing the "Palaro ng
Konsulado sa HK2005", a series of sports events in HK which aim to attract
and gather Filipinos in HK to actively engage in sports and related
activities, as well as to foster closer and harmonious relations.
The men's basketball
tournament and cheering competition, organized in cooperation with the
Philippine Guardian Brotherhood, Inc. -HK Chapter, will open on 13
March at the Lockhart Basketball Court, Wanchai. The succeeding games will
be held every Sunday at the same venue. More than 10 teams from various
parts of HK are expected to join the tournament which will end on 12 June
2005.
Interested basketball
teams should submit duly accomplished participation form and list of
players with their HK ID numbers and photos. The organizers will meet all
team managers, coaches and team captains to discuss the tournament rules
and regulations and other related matters. The date will be announced
later..
The bowling tournament will
be launched on 10 April in cooperation wiht the Association of
Filipiono Builders in HK at the South China Athletic Association (SCAA),
Causeway Bay. The games will be held on three (3) stages for three (3)
consecutive Sundays from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The first Stage (10 April)
will be the ranking round, the second stage (17 April) will be the team
competition, and the third and final stage (24 April) will be the
individual competition. Prizes for all stages will be awarded on 24 April
2005.
The details on the women's
volleyball will be announced at a later date..
The Consulate invites all
Pinoy sports and health fanatics and enthusiasts in HK to witness, join
and support the games, meet new friends and have fun. For more details,

deadline for submission of entry is 13 February 2005 (for basketball) and
20 March (for bowling).
