Public Solicitation in Hong Kong by Philippine-Based Organizations

The Philippine Consulate
General strongly warns the members of the Filipino community that the
conduct of certain Philippine-based organizations to do public
solicitation in order to raise funds without securing the proper permit
from the Hong Kong Government is strictly prohibited under Hong Kong
laws. Any individual/organization who engages in such unlawful activities
may be sanctioned by the authorities for the offense of Fraud and/or
Soliciting Without Proper License.
In addition, be
advised that the authority issued to accredited agencies in the
Philippines to conduct national fund campaigns apply only within the
jurisdictional limits of Philippine territory and does not extend to
another country regardless of whether the target beneficiaries and
donors are Filipinos.
