The Philippine Consulate General conducted its first monthly consular mission to Macau for 2005 on 28-29 January.

The monthly consular mission to Macau is an outreach program by the Consulate and attached agencies designed to provide consular assistance and services to the Filipino community. It is also intended towards providing information about the various programs and services offered by the Consulate and attached agencies.

The first consular mission to Macau this year was led by Consul Ma. Theresa de Vega, together with PCG personnel. OWWA Welfare Officer Cynthia Agbuya and SSS representative Robert Roldan also joined the team. Among the consular-related documents and services issued/provided during the two-day mission were the following: new passports (195); notarials (50); report of birth (19); and SSS services (22).

On 28 January, the Consular Team held an appreciation ceremony for Labor Attache Salome S. Mendoza, Head of the Philippine Labor Extension Office in Macau, and her assistant, Mr. Edgar Mendoza (no relation), in recognition of the invaluable assistance they have and continue to render in support of the monthly consular missions to Macau. Placques of appreciation were handed out to Labatt Mendoza and Mr. Mendoza in the course of the ceremony.
