Procedure for Issuance of Marriage, Birth, Death Certificates and Certificates of
No Marriage from the National Statistics Office (NSO)

For the information of the Filipino Community and the general public in HK SAR, following is the procedure
for the issuance of marraige, birth, and death certificates and certificate of no marriage (cenomar) as provided
by the Office of Director of Civil Registration, National Statistics Office (NSO):
Request for the issuance of any of the above mentioned certificates can be made via letter request or e-census service.
1. For Letter Request
Application will be filled by sending a letter to the NSO. Payments will be in bank draft, demand or cashier's draft
check with a charge of US$ 20 per copy of the document. The requested copy will be sent through mail and in case the
requesting party wants the copy to forwarded by courier, there will be additional charges.
2. For E-Census Service
Application may likewise be coursed through the NSO's internet facility at www.e-census.com.ph. Once access is gained to
the internet facility, the applicant can file requests for birth, death, marriage certificates and certificate of no
marrriage. Payments for the request and handling fee is to be made by depositing the amount to any of the Land Bank of
the Philippines correspondent banks as follows:

In case there is no correspondent bank in the applicant's area, any local bank can be
used so long as it has facilities to transfer payments to the NSO account. In case the
services of non-correspondent banks will be used, following is the data required for

After the payment has been deposited in the bank, the applicant must inform the NSO regarding
the details of the remittance including the remitter's name, date remitted, amount remitted,
and the name of the originating bank.
