Consular Mission to Macau SAR, 7 - 8 July 2006

The Philippine Consulate General conducted its monthly Consular Mission to Macau SAR on 7-8 July. The team was headed by Vice Consul Noel M. Novicio, together with six PCG personnel. OWWA welfare officer Norma del Rosario was also present. The Philippine Labor Extension Office (PLEO)-Macau, headed by Labor Attache Carlos Sta. Ana, provided administrative support to the team.

The Consular Mission to Macau SAR is an outreach program of the Consulate General and attached agencies designed to provide consular assistance and services to the Filipino community and to give information about the various programs and services offered by the Consulate General and attached agencies.

In the course of the two-day Consular Mission, the following consular-related documents and services were issued/provided:

Members of the Filcom thanked the Consular team for extending the Consulate General’s services to the growing Filipino community in Macau. According to the PLEO-Macau, there are at least 10,000 Filipinos in Macau, mostly OFWs.

The Consular team also conducted a prison visit at Macau prison where five Filipinos are currently serving jail terms for various offenses.
