Corpsun Wins Palaro ng Konsulado - Women’s Volleyball Tournament

The powerful Corpsun Team overpowered D’Uragons (3-0) to win the Champion’s Cup of the Palaro ng Konsulado women’s volleyball tournament on 07 August 2005 at the Bayanihan Centre, Kennedy Town.   

Corpsun, led by MVP Emilyn Rulloda, dominated D’Uragons, winning the best-of-5 championship game in straight sets, 25-21, 25-13, 25-19. The Magic Friends and Bayanihan won the 3^rd and 4^th places, respectively. 

Consul General Corazon L. Belmonte-Jover, Mrs. Lolita Brana, President of NOPT-HK, Ms. Tess Ubamos of Bayanihan Centre and Mr. Manny Alde, Corporate Sales Manager of PLDT (HK) Ltd. graced the championship game and  assisted the tournament officials in awarding the prizes to the winners.

Special awards were also given to IESO Team (Best Uniformed Team); Marshaly Abay (Best Server); Joy Aranas (Best Defensive Player); Bheng Ignacio (Best Tosser); Dang Macalindong (Best Spiker and Blocker); Tedd Talledo (Best Coach); Emilyn Rulloda (MVP); Rhodalyn Rulloda (St. Teresa), Flor Cordero (Magic Friends), Gemma Mabalod (Corpsun), Arlene Cabasan (D’Uragons), Grace Aguillon (Bayanihan) and Emilyn Rulloda (Corpsun), Mythical 6 members.

The Palaro is a series of sports events in HK which aim to attract and gather Filipinos in HK to actively engage in sports and related activities, as well as to foster closer and harmonious relations.

It is co-organized with the National Organization of Professional Teachers-HK Chapter and HK Bayanihan Trust,  was sponsored by PLDT (HK) Ltd., Jibsen Trading Co. Ltd., Ms. Mariam Fiaz, Mr. Edwin Poon and Mr. Joel Almeda.

The other participating teams include Airwaves, Bohol HK Team, GSK, IESO, Notty, D’Hitz, Raiders and St. Teresa.
