Resource Mobilization for Victims of Recent Typhoons in the RP

The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong would like to
inform the Filipino community and various organizations in Hong Kong that the National Disaster
Coordinating Council (NDCC) is leading a multi-agency effort in pooling together all resources to
deliver basic relief services to victims and rehabilitate areas ravaged by typhoons Unding, Violeta,
Winnie and Yoyong.
Cash donations may be forwarded to the following NDCC Accounts (NDCC-Typhoon Victims): Account No.

NDCC and DSWD are encouraging cash donations which will be used for
construction and rebuilding of houses and facilities.
As part of the efforts to mobilize available resources from donors in Hong Kong, the
Hong Kong Bayanihan Centre has agreed to be the repository of all donations for the
typhoon victims and started accepting items on 5 December 2004. The donation center
will be open until 15 December 2004 to all members of the Filipino community and
other Hong Kong residents. Philippine forwarding companies in Hong Kong have likewise
generously donated free cargo boxes as well as free freight services for all donations.
The Philippine Consulate General has opened donation boxes within the premises of the
Consulate. Cash donations will be remitted to NDCC.
The Philippine Consulate General is making necessary arrangements with DSWD, NDCC
and PNRC for the speedy delivery of donations to the victims and areas which need
rehabilitation.
