Additional 67 Teacher Appointments Released The Philippine Consulate is pleased to announce that another 67 teacher appointments under the Balik Turo program were recently received from the Department of Education in Manila. The appointment papers were sent to the Consulate through Mrs. Lolita Brana, President of the National Organization of Professional Teachers (NOPT). She is currently in Manila to coordinate the Balik Turo program with the Department of Education officials. As of 24 September 2002, the Department of Education received 441 applications from Hong Kong OFW-teacher applicants. To date, 332 OFW-teacher applicants from Hong Kong have received their permanent teaching appointments while the appointments of 31 other applicants have been put on hold pending compliance with some administrative requirements. Teachers whose names appear here are requested to visit the Consulate on Sunday, 06 October 2002, from 9 am, to receive their appointment papers.
