PACES Scholarship Program For Children of OFWs in Hong Kong

 

The Promotion of Philippine Arts, Culture and Education Society (PACES) is pleased to announce that it is still accepting applications for the Paaral-Parangal, a scholarship program for children of Filipino workers in Hong Kong.

The scholarship will cover tuition fees not exceeding HK$ 17,500 per year or HK$70,000 for a four-year course in any reputable college or university in the Philippines. To qualify for the scholarship, the child should be graduating from high school at the end of the current school year and entering college as a freshman in school year 2002 - 2003.

The program is open to children of bondafide Filipino workers earning a gross family income of not more than HK$ 100,000. Qualified applicants are invited to submit the following supporting documents:

Parent Child
  • Verified Employment Contract or any other document showing total family income
  • Authenticated birth certificate
  • Consulate certification on the eligibility of the applicant
  • Transcript of high school records
  • Hong Kong ID
  • Medical certificate
  • National Secondary School Assessment Test (NSAT) results
  • Notice of acceptance from college / university or certification that applicant has passed the entrance examinations
  • Endorsement from the applicant's High School principal

Interested parties may obtain application forms from the Philippine Consulate General ('2823-8500). Duly-accomplished forms and supporting documents must be submitted to the Consulate (Attention: Vice Consul Flerida Ann P. Mayo) not later than 15 April 2002, for preliminary screening by PACES and onward transmittal to a Selection Committee based in the Philippines.
