Paskong Pinoy Sa Hong Kong 2003


A Christmas celebration for the Filipino community in Hong Kong will be held on 7 December 2003 at the Bayanihan Center. This whole day celebration is organized by the Philippine Consulate General, the Philippine Association of Hong Kong and the HK Bayanihan Trust.

A Holy Mass will kick off the whole day event which will feature performances and presentations by various Filipino performers and organizations. There will also be contests where individuals, groups or associations can participate. 

The Christmas tree design contest is open to everyone. The tree design should depict a particular region in the Philippines, must not be taller than 4 feet, must conform with the “Paskong Pinoy sa Hong Kong” theme and must be made from materials available in Hong Kong. Originality (40%), conformity with the theme (40%), and visual impact (20%) are the criteria for the winners.

Groups of not more than 12 members can participate in the Christmas carols singing contest with a repertoire of Filipino or English carols sung a capella, with accompaniment or minus one not lasting more than 4 minutes. Group winners will be judged on harmony (40%), vocal quality (40%), and stage presence (20%). Special awards will be given to the group with the best props and best costume.

A maximum of 15 entries per contest will be accepted.
